A shelter from the world outside.
Obscura is built on the belief that dystopia has already arrived, through comfort, convenience, surveillance, and the quiet surrender of the human experience to the systems we created.
As machines learn to imitate us, our generation stands in a strange and melancholy position: close enough to remember the human experience as it was, and late enough to watch it being rewritten.
We call this threshold “介”: a shelter from the world outside, a space held in obscurity, sound, and refusal. Obscura exists for those who can feel the future closing in, and still seek somewhere human to stand.

Since 2023
NOS OBSCURA began in Taiwan in 2023, with nights built around industrial and hypnotic techno, EBM and darker experimental electronic music. It is the name of the flagship series and of the platform around it. OKKULT is our larger format, held a few times a year in the same universe.

Dark in aesthetic, human in intention
NOS OBSCURA isn’t just an event. It’s a community, built around music experienced together, in the same room, at the same time.
We bring together artists from Taiwan and around the world, and curate every detail of the night so the spirit of Obscura comes through.
It is a space for inclusivity, where everyone can express themselves as they are. No phones, no VIPs, and the stage is open to everyone.

Event guidelines
Principles apply everywhere we go. Policies apply at our events and can change from night to night, so check each event page.
Principles
- Absolute respect
- No sexism, racism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other form of discrimination or violence.
- Consent
- Always ask. Consent must be explicit and spoken. Don’t assume.
- Respectful dancefloors
- Be visible and don’t take anyone by surprise. If someone is lost in the music, let them be. If they walk away, don’t follow.
- Look after each other
- Look after your friends and the people around you. Never take advantage of someone who is drunk, confused or struggling to communicate. Get them help and find our staff.
At our events
- No phones on the dancefloor
- Phone cameras are sealed with a sticker at the entrance. Remove it, or use your phone on the dancefloor, and you will be asked to leave.
- No photos or video
- Photography is not allowed inside. Our designated photographer only shares images that respect personal privacy.
- Staff with badges
- If you feel uncomfortable, or see harassment or unsafe behaviour, go to security or anyone from our team wearing a staff badge.
- Awareness support
- Our larger events include awareness support, because we take care of each other. OKKULT nights have included an awareness room: a quiet place to rest, with volunteers and first aid.
- Zero tolerance
- Harassment, bullying, or anything that compromises the comfort or safety of others means you leave. No warnings, no exceptions.
- Entry
- 18+ with valid ID. Everyone goes through a security check. No smoking inside.
Photography & privacy
We believe the dancefloor is a place to be present, not to be documented.
While guests are asked to keep their phones away, NOS OBSCURA works with a designated photography and video team to document our events.
The distinction is intentional.
Unrestricted filming changes the atmosphere of a room. It also means people can find themselves appearing on someone else’s social media without their knowledge, consideration, or context.
By working with a dedicated media team, we can carefully review and select what we publish, with respect for the people in the frame and the atmosphere we work to protect.
We want our events to be remembered without making everyone feel watched.
